Riding Lessons
Hendrik Stables in Genoa/Kingston is offering lessons thru the Genoa Park District.
HS features beginner sessions to get you in the saddle and learning to ride the right way from the start. Fun interactive sessions include basics in grooming, tacking, and handling skills… to riding in a safe balanced seat. HS offers a Checklist Ribbon Program! Your instructor Jen Lowe is an ARIA and Safe Sport certified instructor, approved Boy Scouts merit badge counselor, that enjoys English/western riding in dressage, mounted shooting/archery/Police work. HS will feature several sessions including an unmounted After school Enrichment class for those wanting to learn more, but not ready to ride yet. Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Equine approved Helmets are available for use or available for purchase at Farm and Fleet or online.
Beginner Lessons– $150 (4- week lessons)
Starting September 10th with weekly time slots that include grooming/tacking and saddle work. Due to COVID precautions, we are only doing private sessions. Your time will be assigned after registration. Please put a preferred time/day on your registration form. Lessons are 1 hour and meet once a week. Ages 10-adult
Mini Beginners– $120 (4- week lessons)
Mini Beginners is a program for kids 5-10 yrs old with a shorter attention span but still want to learn! Mini sessions include grooming, help tacking and riding. Lessons are 30 mins and meet once a week.
AE
Adult Enrichment Class- $100 (4-week class)
AE is a hands-on beginner class for adults wanting to learn about horses, without riding. What a great way to relax and de-stress from the busy week with the smell of horses and some relaxing adult time grooming! Class meets once a week for 4 weeks. Cost includes all 4 weeks. Horse Care certificate awarded at end of class. Come dress to get dirty with closed toe shoes! Will add sessions if enough interest. Adults 21+ ONLY. 4min/12max

AEK AfterSchool Enrichment for Kids- $100 (4-week class) AEK is a hands-on beginners class for children wanting to learn about care, feeding, grooming techniques, and tack for the horse without riding. We will have several leading horse opportunities but nothing in saddle. Class meets once a week for 4 weeks. Cost includes all 4 weeks and many handouts/info/coloring pages to take home. Horse Care certificate awarded at end of class. Come dressed to get dirty and closed toe shoes, helmets are provided. 1 min/5 max |
